Oil Reserve were Discovered in Brazil

Brazil discovered on November 8th a huge oil reserves very close of Santos Basin, in the region of Tupi. The reserve should have a volume of 5.8 billions barrels of oil and natural gas. The reserves are under a large lay of salt in 5.000 maters of depth. Petrobras, Brazil's national oil company, has been€ doing examinations in the area and it should start to extract the oil at least two years and Petrobras said that the find has the potential to move Brazil into a position where it is one of the top ten oil reserves in the world.

Recently the British magazine ''The Economist'' said that God must really be Brazilian. The comment was based in a Brazilian typical expression: ''God is Brazilian''. The magazine also said that the Brazilians forests are the biggest of the world, the soil is very fertile and underground there are large mineral resources for the Brazilian economic growth. A senior minister said Brazilian oil production had the potential to match that of Venezuela. Actually, Venezuela has the biggest oil and natural gas reserves in South America and it it also should remove the influence and oil monopoly of Venezuela in South America.

The discovery was also excellent for Brazilians, because the reserves are vey close of the biggest region of Brazilian industry. The Santos Basin is very near of Sao Paulo. It means that it will be easy extract and transport the oil. The biggest and most important industries are there. The region will grow up much more. But, as a Brazilian, I am afraid of the discovery become the richest Brazilian states much richer and the poorest much poorer, it would increase the social difference, it is already huge. Brazilian politician and Petrobras must have competence to manage that situation. I am used to seeing the rich people become rich and on the other hand the poor people do not have food, clean water and clothes. it is very common un Brazil. But, of course, that is excellent news and Brazil has all things for to grow in all aspects and with a reserve like thas, the country could be transformed into an exporter of petroleum.

The news is the second biggest oil discover in two decades and together with the hydraulic power and the new bio-fuel, from sugar cane and soya beans, that the country has been investing for years, will transforme Brazil in the contry with more energetic resources of the world.

The Trendy Words Awards

Several words have been nominated for The Trendy Words Awards in Japan. The Trendy Words Awards, which stareted in 1945 by linguistic authorities, determines the words that reflect public opinion and trends the best in that year, and honors the peson who have popularized them. The followings are some of this year's trendy words.

Hanikami Oji -Hanikami means shy, Oji means a prince. It's a nickname of a young golfer, Ryo Ishikawa. When he won the first prize of the professional golf competition this spring, he was only 15 years old, and it was the youngest record in he world. He has made The Guinness Book of Record recently. A sports reporter named this shy boy Hanikami Oji. He is now the one of the most popular sports players.

KY-KY stands for Kuki Yomenai in Japanese. Kuki means an atomosphere or situation, and Yomenai means being not able to sense or notice something. We call people KY those who behave a bit differently from the others. Mainly young people like to use this word.

Donkan Ryoku-Donkan means insensitive, and Ryoku means a power or an ability. This word was first use as a title of the book written by Jun-ichi Watanabe, a famous writer. He says that if you want to live a comfortable life, you should be insensitive to other's opinions sometimes. However, the more popular the book became, the more people were inclined to use the word in various scenes. For instance, when former prime minister Jun-ichiro Koizumi mentioned diplomacy, he said we had better to have Donkan Ryoku toward foreign countries.

It is interesting that KY and Donkan Ryoku have been chosen in spite of their oppsite meanings. It might be said that Japanese people are not sure what to do. We have beem wondering how to cope with circumstances which have been changing rapidly. I think the most important thing for Japanese people is confidence. We need to have a strong mind.

Cyclone Kills 41 in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, a cyclone packing 240 killlometer an hour winds has slammed Bangladesh's southeastern coast last Thursday. It killed at least 41 people and forced hundreds of thousands from theirhomes. Cyclone levelled numerous sent drawning rains and high waves across the lawland coastal areas before weakening to a tropical storm.

The storm flattened thousands of filmsy straw and mud huts, flooded low-lying areas, destroyed crops and fish farms, unrooted trees and electric and telephone poles. Road, rail and river transport also suffered. Because of this cyclone, at least 650,000 people have moved into official shelters where they were being given emergency rations.

The government should start to find the way to overcome this situation. But Bangladesh government is very poor therefore they should ask U.S.A. or U.N. to help them, And many other countries have to pay attention to them.

We Need Obstetricians.

Obstetricians have disappeared in Japan. These days, if we kept an obstetricians we could keep running a hospital, especially in a local city. A hospital is flooded with expectant mothers.

A woman said that she was really happy to have a baby in her hometown. She delivered a baby last month in this hospital. It is located in Wakayama prefecture, where women have 400 babies per year. But there are only 2 obstetricians. In addintion, one of them has to make changes to another hospital to do research. So this hospital was decided that they closed childbirth section this October. If ther closed it, mothers would have to go far from this hospital which is located in another city. It takes over one hour to go there.

According to Japanese medical system, if we were lack of doctors, we could ask university hospitals to send substitute doctors. Normally, that could be enough to find them, but in this case, they could not find them. So they had to ask government to send them. Fortunately, they could find a doctor from Kyu-shu where is in the far distance from that hospital.

The problem is it goes without saying that we do not have enough doctors. Moreover they tend to gather big general hospitals in a big city. We have a big difference between a city and a local city. That is why many expectant mothers try to go to there, even though they have to drive over 2 hours. Big hospitals have to accept high-risk deliver. So since this April, 43 expectant mothers were delivered by helicopter in an emergency situation.

Local hospitals can not accept them because they do not have enough doctors and facilities. So it is not unusual that they are refused to accept in a local hospital.

An expectant mother had died about 6 months ago, after she was gone through over 10 hospitals. This incident was occured a lot of controversy in Japan. Some people said doctors seem to have been had enough knowledge, even though they are working in a local hospital.

Personally, government should encourage in increasing the number of doctors. They do not want to be an obstetrician, because of overworking and low income compare with another doctor. We have to take a strong stand for our government reformation of our medical system. If their working condition was getting better, we could get better treatment.

Robert Dziekanski

Robert Dziekanski was a polish immigrant to Canada. He loved his mother and liked geography, books even when he arrived Canada he had brought lots of book in his bags. Unfortunatly he couldn't read his books in Canada. This events are not only once in Vancouver airport almost Polish who immigrant to Canada had similar exprience. Vancouver airport is not a small place.

In Canada had been admiting immigrant than any other country, that meaning is this goverment should have to protect immigrant people who can not speak English. But the most need to protect foreigner place had been attacting foreigner. Even they don't have any system to interpreter.

The Flood in Tabasco

In the last November 2, Tabasco capital of Villahermosa in Mexico, was devastating by the water of the Grijalva River, which has surged six feet above its normal height amid heavy rains, unrelated to Tropical Storm Noel. More than 30,000 people were being housed in shelters, which were full, while other families preffered to camping out, watching over the few possessions they could save and one person was reported to have died. President of Mexico Felipe Calderon, has called the flooding one of the county's worst natural disasters in the history. On Friday, he toured to Villahermosa, his second visit to Tabasco state in a week. On his arrival, local officials asked for more troops to guard against looting.

Navy helicopters plucked people from roofs on Friday as raising flood waters covered much of the Golf Coast state of Tabasco.Villahermosa, wtih a populationof more than half a million people, was paralyzed, without water and electricity. Newspaper reported that people had formed long lines in the few stores that remained open, in search of drinking water and food. The state governor, Andres Granier, has compared the city to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, he said that some 80% of the state was affected. All the Mexicans and people all over the world are sending food, money, clothes, etc. to show there support and help all the people that had been affected.

A Government Pension Plan Unpaid

There are 4 kinds of pension in Japan. The first kind of pension is the government pension plan for people who do business on their own.

The inspector of pensions found 8 thousands people on pension for one billion and one hundred twenty million yen have not been paid at the end of March 2007. They found that over 50% of people have not applied for a pension. They did not know they were able to pension.

Why they did not know that they were able to get as a pension because the pension system is complicated in Japan. When we become 20 years old, we have to be pension plan's member. This is obligation for people in Japan. This for example, The people work in a company, the people join the employee's pension plan. And then the people quit the company and do business on their own, the pension change to the government pension plan.

This is a problem. Depend on what kind of pension plan but people in Japan usually have to pay pension plan for over 20 years. If we do not , we can not apply the application qualification or even if we do it, we will get little money. So the people who had paid the pension for short time did not know they are able to get the pensions.

However this article is strange. The people who retired usually check their pensions can get or not. There is another reason.

Pension is managed by the Social Insurance Agency, but the Social Insurance Agency has many problem. They don't have some people's address or other information. Some reason are the input mistake by the time of computer introduction or when women marry, they change their family name so they were not input their name accurately.

And the pensions money sometimes disappear because the officer who works in the social Insurance Agency has worked criminal such as deception and embezzling. There are some reason why people can not get a pension. The biggest cause is that the Social Insurance Agency had neglected various for a long time.

Government promised recovery work as people but in fact it is impossible.
This problem is just the tip of iceberg.

Mexican Immigrants

The dialogue between the United States and Mexico, finishing in the Bush-Calderon visit of March, promised to open exciting new ways for the two countries to regularize the historic migration relationship between them. The two discussed making "legality" the norm, regularizing the status of millions working hard, paying taxes, and raising families in America

The supply of Mexican workers has been critical to the expansion to the expansion of
U.S. industry in the last decade. The owners and managers of factories, restaurants, hotels and many other places have been clear about their need for continued access to immigrant workers. Thomas J. Donahue, president of the CEO of the US asked "who will fill the millions of essential worker positions that we will create? Immigration must be one answer

Other organization like American Health Care have written to congress that they need more workers and one solution could be Mexican immigrants, in my opinion one solution for Mexican immigrants could be increase the number of visas or methods to entry for Mexican workers.

If they do that the economies of both countries will be stronger, because almost all Mexican immigrants send money to Mexico, and We are not just talking about few people, We are talking about millions of Mexicans who are living there illegally, and also I think that US whit out Mexican workers would not be strong as It is, they need so much Mexican workers. They should provide us a fast answer because thousand of Mexicans are dying on the border trying to go trough the bravo river and also on the desert

Danger In Army Service

It happened in the beginning of this year in Taiwan. A soldier was died when he was being trained. He was not a volunter navy soldier. Evey soldier should have had swimming skills in marine corps, but the soldier was really terrified of water. In spite of his fear, he had to obey his officers and overcame himself.

The soldier had been required to sink into the water for 30 seconds and swim 25 meters in the swimming pool. He had tried hard as he can but his officers pretended that the soldier attempted to give up, so they forced him to sink into water only 20 seconds. It was too strict for the beginner to have overpressure when they learn how to swim. He was cring for help and had said "please help me". Howevr, the officers did not help him but pressed his head into the water more than three times. After that, the soldier sank into the water more than 15 seconds. The officers thoutht

Today the National Academic Apitude Test is Taken in Korea

Today, November 15th, was the day of the national academic aptitude test for all examinees who want to go university. The test is taken by 580,000 students in 980 schools in 78 areas from 8:40 am to 6:05 pm.

There are 4 parts to test which are Korean, Mathematics, English and Social and Sciences. When they are taking the listening test, nobody can use a horn and vehicle should move slowly. The government also give directions to companies to delay attendance time for workers. The examinees' parents come to the examination school, and they prayed for them to get a good score.

The test is taken once a year since 1994, but many people have objections about the test, I also have some objections. The test is only taken one day.

In 2001, when I was a examine, one of my friends could not come to take the test, because of a bad flu. He had to give up the test that year and he had to wait one more year. It does not make any sense. If someone feels like they are going to die, they must still go to take the test. It means we cannot sick on that day. Someone cannot best condition, is it fare? I do not think so, the government should find another ways to test.

Women Only Subway Will Be Introduced

Starting next year, women only subway cars, which were installed in 1992 and dropped, will be re-instated. Seoul Metro official said they had been examining the construction of women only subways and are expecting a large number of advantages even though there would be some side effects.

Seoul Metro is planning to set up two cars only for women to prevent crimes like sexual harassment making women feel more comfortable and secure. This is, however, drawing fire from the opposition especially from men who think this idea is just ridiculous.

In a street interview, a man said he did not agree with this contentious system because it is basically regarding all men as criminals or perverts. He added that he was dubious that it would be helpful to decrease the sexual crime in the subway.

People who disagree with this plan exclaim that it will just bring a segregation and an emotional gap between men and women. To top it off, they said they had no idea why Seoul Metro tries to re-operate the system which had already failed.

It's quite interesting to compare this situation with Brazil. Last April, Brazilian government tried introducing the system in Rio de Janeiro, but faced strong opposition from feminist organizations rather than from men unlike Korea. The organizations reportedly claimed the system would make their efforts that had fought to extend women's rights in vain. As it's improbable that the women only subway is going to reduce the sexual crime, they don't want to bring the controversial system into the society.

In Korea, few feminists are pointing out that it can be seen as semblance of women superiorism of over-protection of women, but most women are seemingly delighted with the plan of women only subway.

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Tourism

To compare with 100 years ago, we can go almost of everywhere that we want. Because of this, tourism has been made it big in modern society. Tourism is the commercial organization of holidays and services for tourists. For example, if you visit somwhere to tour then you will expect to see something special or get a service in there. This is the exact meaning of tourism.

Tourism can make a world of difference, especially for economic aspect. For instance, some countries which have a historical or special place can make a lot of money because of tourism. Some countries earn money only by selling their culture or history. In this case, we can think about advantage of tourism.

However, we have to keep up with environmental problems. Many touristic important places went wrong because of some thoughtless tourists. And the more serious problem is we can't restore them after we destroy them. We should let people know about some culture that have to be got rid off.

In Thailand, there are one village which is named "Padong long neck". In this village, women should put many rings on their neck. It will make your hair stand on end if you see them, even though it is kind of culture and they have made a practice of doing something since long time ago. This is not real culture but forced culture just because of money. This is one of bad influence of tourism.

It is true that tourism is one method to earn money. And for some countries, it is very important because they don't have any othre source to make money. Bur we sould care about the disadvantage of tourism. Every tourists must think about envrionment and the preciousness of historycal places. For using the advantage of tourism, we should be more mature and rational.

The Greatness of Canada

I never thought that my life in Canada would be like it is. When I was starting high school in Mexico, I told my parents how much I wanted to study English in Canada , and they said they would see what was better for me. I was wishing that they decide to send me here because I thought it would be amazing and I could get away from my parents, rules and responsabilities.

Before my prom was coming I completly forgot about my "fabolous idea to study english", My parents burst out telling me that they had decided to send me to study in Toronto. I had mixed feelings because I did not want to leave my friends, but at the same time I wanted to get away of my routine and many problems.

My cousin and I are the same age so we came together in the same school but in different homestay. When I arrived to Toronto I clearly remember the moment of the airplane landed when I was thinking and expecting that all would be funny, exciting, easily and amazing with out any responsabilities. I was so nervous!!

My first month was so crazy, I was with a Philippine family, and they always made me felt smaller than the others roomates, I do not why (I think I will never know the reason), and at the time, I did not care absolutely nothing about improve my English, I only thought about going out, partying and meeting new friends.

I have had many experiences for example I did not know how to get to my home after 1:30 am (the hour when the subway close). I slept on the street like three times, it was horrible! also, I never did my homework and always falled sleep on class.

My second month was better, I decided to change my homestay and it finally hit home how much effort my parents were doing to keep me here, so I became more matture, and I started to do my best.

Things were starting to go better, my new homestay family was great and when my teacher cheked up on my homework always was perfect. I stopped to be in my exhausting "party" and I started to practice english everywhere.

I have never thought that Canada was as canada is, only if you live here you can figure out how great it is this country, because almost all the people are tolerant, patient and friendly with foreign students, unless I have never seen racism here.

Even I have had bad experiences here if I could decide again where I want to study, I would choose the same country, the same city and the same school.

What are Some Things You had done or Experienced by the Time You Graduated from High-School. Do-hyeong Kim

High-School is important period to all students, because it is a way to university. University can make someone a doctor, lawyer, sales or factory worker. all student do their best to go to a good university. Someone who can go to a good university or not depends on high-school. If some one has done good job he could go university. If some one has done nothing he could not go anywhere, but high school is also good to make a good memory with friends. I felt very hard to focus to studying.

I usually remember my high school days, we had a lot of fun during that time. I was not good at studying. I did many things to take the place of studying. I will explain my experiences.
First, I had had a part-time job, I had worked for hamburger shop, it was my first experience, I learned many things during that time, like managing.

Second, I had had joined broadcasting club. After that, I trained how to speak clearly, to control a mixer, I can not forget when I worked there in that time. I dreamt to be an announcer and when I was senior in high-school, the club members and I filmed a movie for 4 months and we got a 1st prize, we cried all that day, I will never forget it.

Third, I had joined a rock band. I played drums in the band, it was very hard but fun. I was in about only 3 months, because I had to prepare a big test to go to university. In Korea, there is a big test to go to university once a year. If I could not do well in that test I had to wait one more year. I think studying is more important than music. so, I throw up drums and started to study.
These three things are which I had done by high school. but, I never regret them, because they were my choice I will do my best not to regret. Alwats!lways.

An Alien Boyfriend from Space

I happened to meet an alien on my way home, yesterday. It suddenly appeared in front of me at the bus stop. He made my hair stand on end. I asked him what on earth he was doing there,so he said he was just interested in human and asked me to talk about my experience. I almost got away from him when he made a beeline for me,but I started to talking because I was afraid he might catch me and kill me if I tried to escape. The following is my story.

When I was in high school, there was a girl who always made me small. She was nasty to me but she stood out because of her beauty. Besides, she was friendly only to boys,so that many boys were trying to make a pass at her.In fact, I knew she was love with a friend of mine.

One day, the boy told me that he loved me and that made a world of difference to me! I felt very excited about not only his affection but being able to make mincemeat of her. I must admit I was cruel to think that it served her right.

The news that he and I were dating spread rapidly so the girl must have heard it,but she looked as if she hadn't known about it at all.Her attitude toward me had changed by the time we graduated. She completely ignored me.

On our graduation ceremony day, we wrote messages in each other's yearbooks. She wrote to me that she hoped the boy and I would get along well.I had no idea whether she made a bluff or she really thought like that, but her words let me feel sorry for her and make up my mind to break up with him.I haven't seen him since that day as well as the girl.

The alien burst out laughing and said it was the most stupid story that he had ever heard. It seemed that he was no longer interested in me.I felt relief and said good-bye to him. Then the alien left to search for another person who had satisfactory story to him.

Somethings i have done by the time i graduated from high school

By the time I graduated from high school, I have donde alot of things, I have been into alot of different places, Only in US, I have been in Disneyland, Six flags, Hollywood, Las Vegas (even when i did not play).

I got drunk, I have smoked but now I do not, I have changed so much in the last 3 years I became more responsible person compared to how I was before, I was always make it joks and that kind of things and even when I am still a teenager now I am more serious person, now I can see the importance of the things.

I learned to appreciate and to value all the things that I have, like my family, friends and that kind of things and I think that, this experience is one of the most valuable experience taht really matter in your life.

Living in Another Country

I am from Brazil and I have been living in Canada for three excellent months
and I have been doing a lot of interesting things. I have taken some trips; I have been to CN Tower, Niagara Falls, Toronto Zoo, Casa Blanca, and Toronto Island. I have been studing in an English school in Toronto, PGIC, but in my first month I got always of the school and took a trip to French Canada. It was so good because I could see the influence of French architecture, the Canadian Parliament, the people speaking French on the street, a lot of other things that I had never seen in Brazil.

I have been to Quebec, Ottawa and Montreal on that trip. In Quebec I could see the influence of French style in the old Quebec, I have also gone to a pretty good nightclub, I had never seen something similar. In Ottawa, the capital of Canada, I could see the Canadian Parliament and a beautiful sight. I also have been to Biodome of Montreal, where there is a nice zoo inside. All this things was very good, just one thing I did not like, I am tall and the bus was uncomfortable, that keep me up all the travel.

On the week, I have been going out to some nightclubs like Momentos, Mana, Piccadilly. There you can meet a lot of people from different countries: Brazil, Korea, Japan and Mexico. On November 31st was the Halloween, I bought a punk rock costume, there was a blue wig and a rist band, it was very fun. I went out to a nightclub, everybody was looking to me, I stood out from the other people.

During these three months I have been improving my English. I have been talking to my host mother, some American friends, people on the street. It is very amazing, how my English was in January of this year and how it is now. All the teacher of my school are very good, they are very patient. I am proud of myself, now I can watch movies, read book, talk to Canadians.

Finally, I met my mother halfway; we have together been saving money, because I would like to stay my cristmas in New York City. I would love to go there, I want to see The Time Square, Liberty Estatue and it will be very good if snow there, because I have never seen snow. After all those things, I can go back to Brazil, see my family and my friends.
When I was a child my father used to read the book about Egypt stories for me.
Since that time I have been interested in the Pyramide and studied about Egypt relic.
I arrived to Egypt for invastigating about my ancient life report a couple day ago
and yesterday that odd happening was ocurred.

I just finished my yesterday Pyramide investigation program and wanted to drink a cup of coffee for my break time. that moment I could hear small someone's voice but the voice was so small I couldn't find where did it come from.. but I could find one piece of stone looks like coin specially which shape is accurate circle.

Even Egypt staff said to us " You can't which is found in Egypt bring in your accommodation moreover the other place. " I brought that stone in my hotel and put on my desk.
After I had dinner. I tried to read antiquity letters that was written by real Egyptian.
Actually I have tried to recode antiquity letters.
And almost one letter was recoding but I couldn't understand only one sentance.
so I spoke that sentance own my voice for refresh my mind.

Suddenly the stone was shining and

What Had I Done Before I Came To Canada

I have graduated from university this June. My major is economics. It was difficult for me at first when I was a freshman, but it finally hit home when I was in senior year. It was too late to realize however better than never. When I had an examination, I was used to complaining my sister because she recommended me to choose it. I would always second guess myself, did I like what I learn? Fortunately, I had gotten a second wind until the day I graduated.

I had good memory in university. I always got along with my classmates and sometime we got a rise out of our professor. He was a serious, strick and critical teacher, usually we criticized him behind him. It was so funny. I will never forget it. He used to give us more and more quizes in the class. One of my friends was so nervous when we had a quiz that she wrote her cell phone number instead of her student number. The teacher joke with her and pulled her leg in front of the class. It was so embarrassing. We have talked this stupid thing for years whenever we had reunion.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of tourism

Tourism has many advantages and disadvantages. Tourism makes a mark on employment of the people associated with occupations in bars , hotels , tour guides. Tourism makes a world difference to the country that has a tourist attraction because tourism provides much needed foreign currency and foreign in vestment.

The country has more money so it can improve it is infrastructure which is a benefit for the local people. So the advantage is that tourism creates jobs for local people. The advantage is that tourism creates jobs for local people and helps to decrease the unemployment rate and increase local people's earnings. In spite of the advantages of tourism, there can be many disadvantages too as there are always two sides to everything.

First of all, tourists cause pollution and can wipe out the environment. For example, visual and pollution from increased buildings. This may have negatively effects by pollution disturbs local residents and also it may discourage tourist from further visiting the country. It serves them right.

Secondly, building up the infrastructure is costly and money that is spend mat have been better spent elsewhere. Therefore, if for any other political reason if tourists are discouraged to came into the country, then the government will suffer a lot as it did not invest in other things like education, health care. The economy may go wrong and have serious problems like unemployment may be created which could inversely decrease the standards of living of local residents.

These advantages and disadvantages of tourism only scratch the surface. Perhaps, there are many good and bad things in tourism and the things can be to get a second wind for the country and the local people. Tourism has it ups and downs, so the country that is thinking about their tourist spot have to consider plan of tourism or they have to meet local people halfway.

What the Advantages and Disadvantages of Tourism?

Tourism is one of the biggest industries for many countries, which make up for large profit. We can earn a lot of money in tourism. If we want to make money in tourism, our country should be well-known in the world. Because we cannot imagine the country or place where we do not know or have never heard about.

How can we be known in the world? The quickest way to be famous is to hold big sports events or conference like Olympic or Summits. If we want to hold that kind of big event, we have to have good reputation, though.

If we hold the events in our country, we must be in the spotlight of all over the world. The number of people and money will gather naturally and air our country automatically by using media. It is sort of free advertisement which is most useful. In addition, we work in various kinds of occupation which is like constructures for our workers. Domestic economy also could pick up rapidly. Therefore, many countries try to hold Olympic to improve the country's economy, because after Olympic the number of peope who visit our country absolutely increases.

On the other hand, enviroment can be polluted easily by over constructing. We have to prepare the best location for athletes or people who are concerned with them. For example, we have to build over some hotels for people who stay here only during the time, bridges to untie traffic jam or something like that.

Personally, pushing forward to tourism benefits our country, even though we take a risk to pollute our environment. We could introduce our great historical heritages and beautiful place to visit. Tourists not only feel our culture also we could feel foreign cultures. It is really good way to be interested in foreign cultures for our citizen especially the younger generation. Tourism can make a lot of occupation and money and feel foreign cultures, we have to consider about our environment, though. It is kind of our future investment which creates our future profits and make our country show in the world more than ever.

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of Tourism?

There are lots of countries whose economies depend on tourism. In the past, to travel abroad or far away was not easy at all. Thanks to the development of transportation. Today, it is possible to travel everywhere that we want to go. Tourists can go to even Antarctica. However, it has been noticed that there are disadvantages as well as advantages.

First, tourists pollute the environment. Many tourists leave garbage without serious consideration of the environment. They throw away trash on the road, in the buildings, at tourist sites. In addition, to satisfy tourists' convenience, many restaurants and stores have sprouted up everywhere. They not only augment garbage but also destroy the beauty of nature. Sometimes, a careless tourist messes up the fragile nature. Once it goes wrong, it's hard to bring it back as it used to be.

Tourism could spoil a certain region's culture. Since transportation developed, many places which were hard to access before have been exposed to tourists. In the past, they had unique cultures on their own but have been ruined and are disappearing because of tourists. Tourism brings an economic boom but also a threat to their culture. The more they are exposed to tourists, the more detrimental to their cultures.

There are some good points of tourism, though. It makes a good effect on economy. Tourism makes new jobs and companies like tour guides, travel agencies, hotels and restaurants. There are some countries which mainly rely on tourism for a living. It is very crucial for them. If they lose tourists, they lose everything.

For us, tourism or travel is a good experience. We have been learning many precious things through travel or visiting somewhere else apart from our home. Experiencing new things is important for our lives. Travel gives us unforgettable memories and a sense of accepting difference.

Now, tourism is common for everyone so we have to find out a way to decrease the disadvantages of it. We should discuss how we can reduce garbage and bad effects on tourist spots. As long as we are concerned about our environment and the disadvantages of tourism, we will benefit from tourism. It is time for tourists to think about the effects they can make.

Poverty in Japan

The problem of poverty is hidden in Japan, which is considered a rich country. However, poverty has been increasing not only in developing countries but also in economically advanced countries.

With the recent economic recession, low-paid and unstable employment as well as the burden of social security have been increasing. Women who are excluded from the main stream of the economy are suffering from poverty.

These women include solo mothers, elderly women, homeless women and migrant women, but it is very disappointing that the government's paper refers only to solo mothers.

There is a social security system in Japan, but the system does not work well for women and only a limited number of women are able to receive its benefits. Because of this, the system instead tends to create further poverty and discrimination against women. Women receive only half the amount of the employee pension of men, because the amount is based on wages and term of payment of premium.

Women's wages are very low, and the systems of wages, taxes, pensions and social security are all based on a family that has a husband as a breadwinner and a wife as a dependent. If a woman gets divorced, she has to face poverty.
