The last weekend here in Toronto happened unexpected accident which was the ttc strike.Thereason why I picked this topic up is that I have never seen this kind of strike before . I have seen lots of companies went on a strike like motor car company , electricity and so on . But The tranportation company that go on a strike is not common issue .
Generally speaking ,It rare happen. Because The Tranportation company usually run under the goverment. But here in Toronto As far as I know they have run under the between goverment and private comapany . It can't give the definition to who run the ttc . One thing I am sure is that totally diffrent system as the other country .
This strike casued by they wanted to get more pension. It was good trying and I completely understood furthermore most of people seemed like they don't mind . But I think that's problem. Nobody complained like a to attack their web site , demo. To make matter worse they didn't give us any solution and any warning .
It is not ok for internatinal student . Especially asian student not only asian . Even they had the strike just about 1 week ago . They did again . It was shocked for me . They have just went on a strike 7 or 8 times . I'm not sure but give or take in a 10 times . Now I am going to describe what the difference is between canada and korea .
First , The tranprotation company in other country They run under the goverment and Even if they went on a strike , They would prepare some solution for citizen. Second , The reaction of people. I dare to say that Everything is going to be messed up like a chaos for example , To attack web site and too much make a phone call at their office and so on . Third , They usually have a physical fighting with police .
As I mentioned atmosphere of strike is totally different but these things are not 100% true .From what I can see , Canada has differ from korea . First , In spite of the fact that they are a public transprotation , they could go on a strike Because they have run under 50% goverment , 50% private company . Second , Canadian's reaction . Most of them just waited until they went back on the road .It was very impressed .
As I mentioned , there are lots of difference between Korea and Canada . It is not cultural gap . I guess that It is just system's difference . Whatever they do , I hope that they prepare a solution for people .
