An older person I remember.

I remember it was when I was a little girl that I met him. There used to be a place where the old could spend their day time in my town. It was a kind of shelter for the old. They would talk to each other, drink tea and do small works like making dolls in there. I used to go there because one of the old in there had opened a Chinese characters class with small payment. When I was 10 years old, my mother sent me there to learn Chinese characters and I met him for the first time.

He had been a teacher. He was quite old like around 70 years old. When he stepped in the class on the first day of the class, he totally dressed up and looked so neat but he grabbed a long switch which made me get so frustrating. However, He was so friendly and kind to his students. He taught me not only Chinese characters but also many things. He would tell us many stories. I could learn a lot about how to respect my parents, family, teachers, the older and my friends. I also could be taught wisdom of life from him.

I really respected him and I used to like the way he enjoyed his life. He was always passionated about everything not only teaching. He would sing a Sijo which is Korean ode in the past. Even though he was over 70 years old, he would go climbing. He would love to enjoy nature. I was kind of a teacher pet. I would clean up my class room and the black board before the class started and I remember I was really happy when he stroked my head as praise. Somehow I do not keep in touch with him anymore but I still remember him and respect him. I hope he is healthy and sound.
