What would happen if water in the ocean increased by 10 meters

Global warming is now a serious problem all over the world. You can find articles about global warming in the newspaper everyday. In Toronto, we can even feel that the weather is getting warmer every year. I feel happy because of the warm weather but it's not an enjoyable thing at all if you think about the sea level areas.

For many years, icebergs have been melting because of global warming and it has been causing a lot of problems. First, we're losing lots of parts of the Earth. The increased water of the ocean would occupy the lower parts of the land. Experts say that we will lose Maldive Islands in a few years. People will lose their homes and their countries.

Second, increased water also would decrease wetlands and it would cause a big problem to an ecosystem. The wetlands play an important role in the ecosystem. If the wetlands disappear, some animals will not be able to find places to live in and some others will lose their places to hunt. The ecosystem doesn't suddenly appear overnight, so we should be careful not to break it.

You can't bring it back if the Earth goes wrong. We have to be sensitive about the changes in our planet. Newspapers and environmentalists are going on warning. We should listen to them. It's our home, our planet! We're responsible for what we've done to our planet.
